Wow 👌 Absolutely delicious and the size of the portions are really good. From the starter to the desert we could not stop eating. Everything cooked to perfection 👌 with love and passion. Very friendly local people. We will come back.

Quirky, homely and warm little pub/restaurant. Just love the decor with the old gas lamps, low ceilings and big wooden beams. Food was gorgeous, large portions and very good value for money. Staff were friendly and good fun, knew how to have a laugh which was good when there was 5 lads in there for a meal. Would definitely return again if in the area.

This was our first visit to the pub since moving to a nearby village almost three years ago. We wanted to take visiting family to lunch when they visited recently, so with no personal recommendations to go by, decided to try The Chequers. It proved to be a worthwhile find - the service was good and the food excellent, with a good choice of freshly prepared dishes available from both the usual menu and the ‘specials’ board. We’re already looking forward to our next visit, whenever that may be!

Had an amazing meal this evening. staff are lovely and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Great value. Will definitely be back soon .
